How to Dark Mode Google Chrome

If you are a google chrome user, and you want to change it to dark mode there are several things you can do. We will try to summarize the ways for you, complete with some extensions that you can use.

How to turn Dark Mode On

Turn on Dark theme, Mobile device.

Android

Important: Dark theme is available on Android 5 and up.

If you don’t find Dark theme settings, you may have to restart Chrome.

Turn on Dark theme
On your Android device, open Google Chrome Chrome.
At the top right, tap More More and then Settings and then Themes.
Choose the theme you’d like to use:
System Default if you want to use Chrome in Dark theme when Battery Saver mode is turned on or your mobile device is set to Dark theme in device settings.
Dark if you want to use Chrome in Dark theme.
Light if you want to use Chrome in Light theme.
Check if you’re in Dark theme or Incognito mode
Open Chrome.
At the top, check if you find Incognito Mode Incognito. If you find the Incognito mode icon, you’re browsing in private.

iPhone and iPad

Note: Dark mode is available on iOS 13 and up.

Turn on Dark mode
On your iPhone or iPad, turn on Dark mode.
Open Chrome.

Go to Settings, then tap Control Center.
Tap the Add button next to Dark Mode to add it to Control Center.

Set Dark Mode to turn on automatically
Go to Settings, then tap Display & Brightness.
Select Automatic.
Tap Options to set a schedule for Dark Mode.

Turn on Dark theme, On your PC

Mac OS 10.14 an up

Mac OS 10.14 and up.

Open settings:

In macOS Ventura or later, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Appearance in the sidebar.
In earlier versions of macOS, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click click General.
Then select one of the Appearance options at the top of the window:

Light: Use the light appearance.
Dark: Use the dark appearance.
Auto: Automatically use the light appearance during the day, and the dark appearance at night.

Windows 10 and up

Open Chrome.

You can choose a picture worthy of gracing your desktop background, or you can change the accent color for Start, the taskbar, and other items.

Select Start Start symbol > Settings > Personalization . The preview window gives you a sneak peek of your changes as you make them.

To open Quick Settings, at the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings .
In the “Device” section, select Displays.
Under “Night Light,” turn on Night Light.
Under “Color temperature,” adjust the color.
Automatically change your screen color at night
At the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings .
In the “Device” section, select Displays.
Under “Night Light,” turn on Night Light.
Choose when to change your screen’s color in the “Schedule” section:
Custom time: Enter a start time and end time.
Sunset to sunrise: Use your current location’s sunset and sunrise times to control Night Light.
Turn off: To stop night mode from turning on automatically, select Never.
Tip: To quickly turn off Night Light, at the bottom right, select the time and then Night Light .
